Wat is de StudieStartWeek?
De StudieStartWeek is de algemene introductieweek voor alle aankomende eerstejaars studenten aan de Stenden hogeschool Leeuwarden. Het is de ideale gelegenheid om de stad Leeuwarden te ontdekken, de Stenden hogeschool te leren kennen en om alle aspecten van het studenten leven te ondergaan.
De StudieStartWeek vindt in 2010 plaats van maandag 23 tot en met donderdag 26 augustus. In deze week word je met andere eerstejaars media studenten in groepen van 12 ingedeeld. Met deze groep ga je in de StudieStartWeek verschillende activiteiten ondernemen en evenementen bezoeken. Dit varieert van kennis maken met elkaar tot kennismaken met het onderwijs en de school, en van spelactiviteiten tot fantastische feesten in de avond uren.
De indeling van de groepen gebeurt op willekeur, maar je wordt wel alleen bij Media studenten ingedeeld. Elke groep heeft twee begeleiders. Dit zijn ouderejaars studenten van Media en Entertainment Management die je de gehele week wegwijs zullen maken
De StudieStartWeek is dus een goede gelegenheid om kennis te maken met het studentenleven in Leeuwarden en je zult merken dat in Leeuwarden het uitgaansleven prima is geregeld. De Friese hoofdstad biedt een uitgebreid scala aan theater, bioscopen, een filmhuis, kroegen en cafés, discotheken, restaurants en gezellige eethuisjes. Leeuwarden is de gezelligste HBO stad van Nederland. Kijk, dat is’t mooie aan Leeuwarden.
De StudieStartWeek is een verplicht onderdeel van je studie aan de Stenden Hogeschool en mag niet worden gezien als een ontgroeningweek, maar een week van entertainment en kennismaking. In deze week krijg je belangrijke informatie welke je kan helpen bij de start van je studie. Wij raden je dus aan om deel te nemen aan deze StudieStartWeek.
Mocht je door omstandigheden niet kunnen komen op de StudieStartWeek meld je dan af bij Marina Tjepkema. Op maandag 30 augustus tussen 8:30 en 11:00 kun je bij kamer 1.95 langs gaan. Hier krijg je een groep en een rooster toegewezen voor het eerste moduul ook kun je voor 7 euro een SSW tas kopen. Dit is alleen voor mensen die de SSW 2010 gemist hebben.

De Studie start week is een onmisbare week omdat:
• Je krijgt nodige informatie voor de start van je studie.
• Je kunt je laatste dingen met betrekking tot het inschrijven regelen.
• Je leert de weg vinden in de stad Leeuwarden.
• Je maakt kennis met het studentenleven.
• Je maakt kennis met je medestudenten.
• Kortom, het is een week om NIET te missen!
De kosten voor de StudieStartWeek zijn 65 euro welke je dient te voldoen tijdens de registratie op maandag 23 augustus. Het bedrag dient contant betaald te worden. Voor dit geld is er avondeten geregeld. Echter zijn de lunch en het ontbijt NIET inbegrepen. Verder zijn er verschillende feesten en activiteiten geregeld. Veel plezier en alvast succes met je studie.

What is the StudyStartWeek?
The StudyStartWeek is the introduction week for all Stenden’s prospective new first year students. It is the ideal opportunity to discover the city of Leeuwarden and to get to know your fellow students.
The StudyStartWeek 2010 takes place from 23 August till 26 August. In this week you will be put into groups of 12 new first year media students under the guidance of two student tutors. With this group you will participate in many activities and visit different events. These events vary from getting to know each other to getting to know the school and from game activities to great parties at night. The arrangement of groups will be random but you will be placed in groups with other media students. Each group has two student tutors. They are senior students of Media and Entertainment Management who will guide you through the week.
The StudyStartWeek is a good opportunity to get to know the student life in Leeuwarden and you will see that the nightlife is varied and exciting. The Frisian capital offers a wide range of theatres, cinemas, pubs, bars, clubs and restaurants. Leeuwarden is the cosiest city to host a university of applied science.
The study start week is compulsory but is not an initiation-hazing week. It is a week of entertainment and getting to know each other. During this week you will receive important information that will help you with your study, we therefore stongly advice you to be present and participate in the StudyStartWeek.
In case of absence because of personal circumstances you have to report this to Marina Tjepkema. At Monday the 30 august between 8:30 an 11:00 you can come to office 1.95 to get your schedule for the first period. This is only for people how did not participate in the SSW 2010. It is possible to buy for 7 euro your SSW bag.

You cannot afford to miss the study start week because:
• You will get a lot of information about the programme Media and Entertainment Management.
• You can arrange the last things about your registration, housing, etc.
• You will experience the City of Leeuwarden
• You will get to know who your fellow students are.
• The study start week is great fun, and there is no better way to start with your course
The costs of the study start week are 65 euro. You have to pay this in cash at the registration on Monday 23 august. For this money we will provide you with dinner every day, (NO LUNCH), parties and different types of entertainment. Please take a look at the program. We welcome you at the to Stenden University and wish you good luck with your course.
